What are the functions of geomembranes in flood prevention?

1)、 Trenching and anti-seepage

Excavate several vertical ditches perpendicular to the embankment body or inclined ditches at 40 to 60 degrees with the embankment body from the point where water seepage occurs on the back of the embankment slope to the outside of the embankment foot. The remaining vertical ditches should be connected on the side. Generally, the width of the ditch is 0.3-0.5m, the depth is 0.5-1.0m, and the distance between the ditches is 6-10m. According to the requirements of reverse filtration, the true filter material is laid layer by layer in the ditch, and it is filled as excavation proceeds to prevent the collapse of the ditch wall.

2)、 Inverted filtration and anti-seepage

If the soil quality of the embankment is poor and the cross-section is small, a large area of reverse filtration can be used to guide seepage. First, remove the surface debris of the seepage area, and then fill and pave in layers according to the requirements of reverse filtration.
